What classes do you offer?

We offer four programs — Music, Tutoring, Art, and After-School:

  • Music: private lessons in Piano 🎹 (beginner & advanced), Vocal 🎤, Drum, Violin 🎻, and Guitar / Ukulele 🎸, plus small-group Piano / Music Appreciation and ABRSM Grade 5 Theory classes
  • Tutoring: one-on-one English (ELA) and Math lessons, plus small-group English and Spanish language arts classes
  • Art: small-group Art & Painting (Primary and Advanced levels), Design & 3D creative art, and advanced one-on-one art lessons
  • After-School Program: homework, academic skills, and enrichment for Grades K-8 — plus Summer, Winter, and Off-Track school break programs
What age is a good time to start music or art lessons?

We generally recommend:

  • Music: beginners can start with our small-group Piano / Music Appreciation class, which focuses on rhythm, listening, and interest-building; private instrument lessons are open to All ages, children and adults.
  • Art: Primary Level ages 5+ · Advanced Level ages 7+.
Can beginners sign up?

Absolutely 👍 Many of our students start with no prior experience, and our teachers guide them step by step from the very beginning.

How long are lessons, and how often do students come each week?

Our private music lesson lengths are 30, 45, or 60 minutes (shorter lessons suit younger children and beginners). For most students, we recommend one lesson per week. If you are looking for a different schedule, feel free to reach out.

One-on-one tutoring sessions are 45 or 60 minutes for English and 45, 60, or 90 minutes for math. Group classes run in sessions — 10 classes for English Language Arts groups, 10 for Art & Painting, 8 for the Piano Group, and 20 for ABRSM theory. The After-School Program is enrolled by the week.

Do you offer private lessons, group classes, or both?

We offer both, depending on the subject:

  • Music lessons are one-on-one (piano, vocal, drum, violin, guitar / ukulele); we also run small-group Piano / Music Appreciation and ABRSM Grade 5 Theory classes
  • Tutoring is one-on-one for English (ELA) and Math; English and Spanish language arts are also offered in small groups of 3–6
  • Art & Painting classes are taught in small groups of 3–6 students; advanced students can also take one-on-one art lessons
What are your teachers like?

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes — trial lessons are available by reservation.

  • Music: new students may book one 30-minute trial lesson for $20 (50% of the regular price) online at goldenechoedu.opus1.io/w/trial
  • Tutoring: please contact us to schedule a trial session
  • Art: one trial class is $40 — contact us to schedule
  • After-School Program: contact us to arrange a visit or fill out the sign-up form
Do we need to buy an instrument or prepare art supplies?
  • Instruments: Beginners can start with studio instruments. If a student plans to continue long term, we usually recommend getting their own instrument.
  • Art supplies: We will provide clear guidance on what is needed, so parents do not have to figure it out on their own.

We are also happy to share recommendations if you need help choosing what to buy.

What are the benefits of learning music or art?

Learning music can help children:

Do students have opportunities for performances, competitions, or exams?

For music students, we offer:

  • A yearly student recital / concert
  • Exam preparation, recording support, and guidance for ABRSM / CM

For art students, we provide opportunities such as:

  • Competitions
  • Art exhibitions

These experiences help students build confidence, develop a sense of achievement, and stay motivated.

What are your rates?

Music — private lessons: $40 / 30 min, $60 / 45 min, $80 / 60 min (advanced piano: $55 / $75 / $95). Group classes: Piano Group / Music Appreciation $240 per 8 lessons; ABRSM Grade 5 Theory $900 per 20-class session. Trial lesson $20 / 30 min.

Tutoring — one-on-one: English (ELA) $45 / 45 min, $55 / 60 min; Advanced English $95 / 60 min; Math $45 / 45 min, $55 / 60 min, $80 / 90 min. English Language Arts groups: $300 per 10 × 60-min classes, $450 per 10 × 90-min classes.

Art: Art & Painting group $400 per 10-class session + $25 materials fee; Advanced Art & Painting private lesson $95 / 60 min. Trial class $40.

After-School Program: weekly tuition from $134 / week depending on days per week (see the full tuition page for the weekly table and materials fee). School break programs from $89 / week; single day $75.

A prepaid package of 10 private lessons (music or tutoring) receives 5% off, and siblings enrolled in the same program receive a 5% sibling discount. Full details are on each program page.

What if my child has a hard time sitting still?

Our lessons are designed to support children through:

  • Step-by-step guidance
  • Creative, interactive teaching
  • A balanced pace and age-appropriate difficulty level

Most children gradually settle in and become engaged during class.

Do students need to practice at home?

We do encourage regular home practice, but we want it to feel light, manageable, and sustainable, not stressful.

In general:

  • Beginners usually only need about 10-20 minutes a day
  • Practice time will vary based on the child's age and stage of learning
  • Teachers give clear practice assignments, so parents do not need to plan everything themselves

Our goal is to build a healthy practice routine, not add pressure at home.

For younger students, a lot of guided practice already happens during class, so home practice is mainly there to reinforce familiarity and confidence.

Even if home practice is limited, students can still make steady progress through consistent lessons. We also provide clear guidance so parents can feel comfortable supporting practice, even without a music background.
